Appointed by the Orange County Board of Supervisors in 2017, I served on the Board of Directors for CalOptima—the largest county-organized health system in California and the state’s #1 ranked Medicaid plan. As part of a nine-member board, we oversaw a $3.5 billion annual budget to address the healthcare needs of nearly one million of Southern California’s most vulnerable residents.
TRUSTEE, CA HEALTH PROFESSIONS EDUCATION BOARD — 2016-2019
Appointed by Governor Jerry Brown in 2016, I served on the board of California’s only statutorily created nonprofit foundation dedicated to expanding healthcare access in underserved areas. As part of an 11-member board, we have awarded over $124 million in scholarships and loan repayments to healthcare professionals committed to delivering direct patient care in California’s most vulnerable communities.
